Our 110% Tuition Refund Guarantee

If you choose to pay your tuition upfront or with the Outcomes Based Loan, you may qualify for our Tuition Refund Guarantee. We’re so confident that our programs provide a direct path to a high paying job that we offer the following guarantee:

If you qualify for our Tuition Refund Guarantee, fulfill the requirements, and still don’t get a job paying $50,000 a year (or $4,166 a month) within 365 days after graduation, you don’t have to pay. In fact, we believe in our job-driven school so much that we'll pay you an extra 10% of your tuition on top of the 100% of tuition that we will refund.

Who qualifies for the 110% Tuition Refund Guarantee?

Please note: The Tuition Refund Guarantee begins at 9am PT, Dec 2, 2021. Applicants may only select previous tuition options with no access to the TRG if they enroll before 5pm PT, December 1, 2021.

To be eligible for a 110% refund on your tuition or loan, the following must apply:

    • Posting at least 5 GitHub contributions

The above list is not exhaustive; please reference your Tuition Refund Guarantee for a full list of career commitments.
  • If all of the above applies and you do not get a job paying $4,166 or more per month for at least 3 consecutive months, simply send in a request for Tuition Refund within 30 days and you will be refunded 100% of your tuition, and we'll pay you 10% of your tuition.

Tuition Refund Guarantee Questions

Important Note: The FAQs below explains certain tuition and Tuition Refund Guarantee features and terms, but do not override any terms in the Tuition Refund Guarantee agreement itself. Students should read their enrollment agreement and TRG agreement carefully to understand their terms.
What is the Tuition Refund Guarantee and how does it work?
Learners who elect the Tuition Refund Guarantee (TRG) may be eligible for a 110% refund on their BloomTech tuition if they receive a BloomTech certificate of completion and are not earning, or have received offers for, at least $50,000 on an annualized basis ($4,166 for at least 3 consecutive months) after 365 days and are in compliance with BloomTech’s TRG. BloomTech’s TRG is only available to learners who pay full upfront tuition or finance their BloomTech tuition through an Outcomes Based Loan.

If you are approved for a TRG refund, BloomTech will forgive 100% of your tuition, refund any tuition payments to BloomTech, and/or cause your approved lender (Ascent) to refund any amounts paid by you on your loan (including interest and fees actually paid), cancel the loan, and offer you a one-time payment of $2,195.00 ($3,000.00 for CA residents who paid $30,000 in full upfront tuition and are approved for a TRG refund). This payment is taxable.

Learners who would like to apply for a TRG refund must do so within 30 days of the Termination Date listed in their Tuition Refund Guarantee.

You can see our full Tuition Refund Guarantee terms here.

Which BloomTech tuition options are eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee?
The following BloomTech tuition options are eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee: full upfront tuition (lump sum payment or multiple installments) and the Outcomes Based Loan.

Income Share Agreement tuition options, RICs (CA residents), and international learner upfront tuition are not eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee at this time.

What are the Career Commitments required by the Tuition Refund Guarantee?
The primary commitments are that you must apply for 10 jobs, reach out to 10 individuals for professional networking, and post at least 5 GitHub contributions to your public GitHub profile per week. Please note that this list is not exhaustive; please review your Tuition Refund Guarantee carefully for additional details.

BloomTech is confident that you will land a high-paying job in tech if you remain committed over a 365 day period. We recognize that the job search may be draining, so grads will remain in good standing for the Tuition Refund Guarantee if they meet these requirements for 46 of 52 weeks.

Are international learners eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee?
At this time, only learners who live in the US and are US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, or DACA recipients are eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee.

Do I have to take the first job I’m offered that’s more than $50K?
Receiving an offer that generates at least $50,000 on an annualized basis ($4,166 on a monthly basis) for at least three (3) consecutive months makes you ineligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee (note: this is not the only ineligibility trigger - please read your TRG carefully).

You are under no legal obligation to accept your first offer, and may continue to recruit and interview for additional roles. However, you will not be eligible for the Tuition Refund Guarantee if you turn down the first offer and do not receive any subsequent offers.
What if I make a $50K annual salary but the job is only 3-months long or temporary?
Any combination of salaried, hourly, contract, or other positions where the total gross amount you are entitled to for a consecutive three month (or longer) period is at least $50,000 on an annualized basis (or $4,166 on a monthly basis) will disqualify you from Tuition Refund Guarantee eligibility. You will retain TRG eligibility if your total gross income is below $4,166 per month for three (3) consecutive months or above $4,166 but only for one (1) or two (2) consecutive months.
How do I report my income? How is my income verified?
BloomTech requires that you report all job offers within three (3) business days. Offers are verified via offer letter or other official communication via our Repayment team. Alternatively, you may provide pay stubs as proof of actual earned income. Please refer to BloomTech’s Learner Guide for additional details.

If I end up getting my tuition back, how will it be paid back to me? Will it be taxed? Do I pay any fees or interests out of the original tuition?
If you are approved for a tuition refund, BloomTech will forgive 100% of your tuition, refund any tuition payments to BloomTech, and/or cause your approved lender (Ascent) to refund any amounts paid by you on your loan (including interest and fees actually paid), cancel the loan, and offer you a one-time payment of $2,195.00 (or $3,000.00 if you are a resident of California and paid a $30,000.00 tuition). This payment is taxable.
What if I file a joint tax return?
Your tax filing status has no bearing on your TRG eligibility. BloomTech will only consider your individual earned income to determine if you received an offer in at least the qualifying amount ($50,000 or more on an annualized basis, or at least 3 consecutive months with a combined earned income of $4,166 or more).
How does BloomTech help me get a job?
Job readiness starts from the day you begin your journey as a BloomTech learner. You’ll complete career development assignments throughout your program to help you define your career plan. Upon graduation, you’ll work with our Career Coaches in both 1:1 and small group settings to prepare for interviews, build your network, and source and apply for jobs. You’ll also get connected to job opportunities in BloomTech’s hiring network that match your needs and skillset, in addition to our nationwide alumni network. In addition to career support provided by BloomTech, you are expected to work individually on your job search (e.g., submitting applications, conducting outreach and networking, preparing for interviews, brushing up on technical skills)
